It’s true-my dad wrote a book. Some of it I find a bit embarrassing, as it contains accounts that I never bothered to mention in my books. Read about a parent-teacher conference after I used Goliath’s head (which was left over from a school play) for target practice. Other events, such as the time I almost wrecked the ancient family van, are a bit humbling. Readers might be shocked, horrified, or surprised by the book-but not bored. -Matt Snader
Jeff Snader was born in 1959 into what we would now, today, call a dysfunctional family. He moved away from home at a young age. This book details Jeff’s story from his growing-up years, his early employment, and his years of driving trucks for various companies, several of which were criminally unscrupulous. Along the way, he is involved in starting an advertising company, which does well, and is eventually sold to a group of investors. Jeff is now partially retired, but manages an investment portfolio of real estate and other investments. This is his story. Faith is an important part of Jeff’s life, a life saved from ruin. His neighbors, who were Mennonites, introduced him to church. This book also includes Jeff’s spiritual journey along the way, and God’s redeeming work in his life, through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
This book includes many interesting (and sometimes very strange) accounts from truck driving, relatives who behave in odd ways, and other such stories. It is unlikely you will find this book boring. Kevonna Newswanger has been an integral part of helping put this book together, and due to her work, she is listed as a co-author. She took Jeff’s rough handwritten notes and forged them into a readable document. Kevonna (who is married to Tyler Newswanger) used to work for Jeff’s company, but is now a stay-at-home mom, taking care of her son, Emerson.
