This is something new Matt Snader is trying out. What you are buying is more than just a special edition book:

In April or May of 2025, Matt ordered a new boat, the Snader Raider II. Forty feet long, black, and equipped with triple 300 HP Suzuki outboards, this boat was custom-built from the hull up to sail Alaska’s Inside Passage from Bellingham, Washington, to Prince William Sound, Alaska. A distance of over 1,600 miles. The original plan was to run the boat up to Alaska in the spring of 2026, however, delays in the boat design and build made that first plan impossible. Now that the boat is nearly finished, the 2027 sailing date looks confirmed.

What this package offers:

Matt is setting up a private Telegram channel just for this trip. People who buy this package will be given access to the channel, where Matt will upload videos every day, via a Starlink mounted on the boat. He will also provide updates via phone, email, and fax for those who don’t have Telegram. In addition to the trip itself, there will be updates about preparing for the trip, potentially about the boat’s sea trials, and other such things.

You will receive your special-edition, autographed hardcover book by Christmas 2027 about the Inside Passage Trip. Note that the cover design will change (this is just a placeholder), and the title may also change. Matt will autograph each book, and write a personal note of thanks in each one. This offer is only good until the boat leaves the dock for Alaska, after that, it is too late to buy this package. There will be other books made of the trip, but not special, limited autograph editions like this one. We expect this will become a collector’s edition at some point.

Your name will also be printed in the back of the special edition hardcover book, as a support who helped make this trip happen. Matt will also print a list of all the names on a vinyl decal who purchased this package and put it on his boat, as a reminder of all the people who helped make this trip happen (optional, you can request your name not be on the list).

Some caveats:

If book printing and/or shipping runs late, something outside Matt’s control, the book may arrive after Christmas of 2027.

Page count is to be determined, but book size is expected to be 9″x9″ and 250 pages. This could vary significantly, but will be at least 200 pages and no more than 350 pages. If, for some reason, the trip is reschedule for a later date, then the book publication date will also be moved back. If the trip is canceled, your money will be refunded.
